Adobe Systems Inc this week announced Adobe Illustrator, Windows Version, a PostScript language-based drawing package designed to enable both professional and novice artists to create high quality illustrations. The MS-DOS package needs 640Kb main memory, 256Kb expanded memory, a hard disk and floppy and VGA or Hercules Monochrome interface and display. Illustrator files can be sent to any PostScript output device for printing. It will ship by year-end at $695. Adobe also announced Adobe Font Folio, a hard disk containing the entire Adobe Type Library, now over 300 typefaces strong; out November, at $9,600.
