Adobe Systems Inc has acquired BluePoint Technologies Inc, a company based somewhere in New Hampshire – Adobe doesn’t say where – that creates chips for rendering hinted, outline type: the company has a a type rendering chip, the BP100A, and Adobe plans to use the technology to create a chip whose input format is the Adobe Type 1 font format, to design it into Adobe controllers, and to offer it to OEM customers as an option to increase speed of text printing; no terms of the buy were revealed.
