Adobe Systems Inc is shipping what it claims is the first cross-system visual Standardised Generalised Mark-up Language tool for authoring and electronic publishing. Adobe Framemaker+SGML is the first joint product out of the door since Adobe acquired technical authoring house Frame Technology Corp in June. It combines page composition, text editing, graphics, structure validation, visual support for native SGML in a single environment. Up under Solaris, AIX and HP-UX it’s from $2,000 for a personal licence, $4,000 for a shared licence. Framebuilder upgrades go from $500.
