Adobe Systems Inc, based in Mountain View, California has signed a licence agreement with the Berlin-based H Berthold AG, type foundry: the agreement makes Adobe the exclusive licensee with rights to convert the Berthold Exklusiv collection of typefaces into its Type 1 font format for use on PostScript printers and imagesetters; the Ber-thold family of Exklusiv typefaces numbers almost 500, and 40 of those are available from Adobe, which plans to release typefaces on a quarterly basis, and it will have rights to new typefaces Berthold designs for Exklusiv collection.
