Mountain View-based Adobe Systems Inc has announced the CD-ROM MovieMaker Plug-in for Adobe Premiere for Macintosh version 4.0.1 or later. It enables CD-ROM developers to capture, edit and compress movies for smooth playback at low data rates, without the extra steps involved in third party programs. It also provides tools for analysing the data rate of a movie and for batch processing. The plug-in will be free to registered users and is expected to be available for downloading from Adobe’s Web site at http://www.adobe.com any day now. Other features include the ability to limit and smooth the data rate for improved playback; to crop and filter movies to reduce noise; to generate specific colour palettes for playback on 8-bit systems; to set key frames at markers or edits so as to improve image quality and speed; and to troubleshoot movies using a new data rate analysis tool.
