Adobe buys imaging software provider

Adobe Systems has acquired Denmark-based imaging software provider YaWah for an undisclosed sum to expand the market for Adobe Scene7 software in Europe.

By CBR Staff Writer

Adobe Scene7 is a hosted rich media platform designed for e-commerce and multi-channel marketing companies. Adobe said it is used by blue-chip companies worldwide including QVC, Otto UK, and Levi Strauss to drive online business through the management, distribution, and delivery of dynamic content across channels.

Adobe said the acquisition is not expected to have a material impact on its fiscal 2008 earnings.

Doug Mack, vice president and general manager of consumer and hosted solutions at Adobe, said: YaWah has built an excellent product, customer base and a supportive set of partners that deliver dynamic rich media across Europe. YaWah’s market knowledge and technology, integrated with Scene7, will ensure that European companies have immediate access to hosted media solutions that are transforming the online experience for some of the web’s most visited sites.
