Adobe Systems Inc is negotiating with Altsys Corp to settle the lawsuit that is blocking Adobe’s acquisition of Aldus Corp, the Wall Street Journal reported: Altsys filed the suit to block the proposed acquistion because it claims the proposed deal violates the licensing agreement under which it supplies Aldus with the Freehand program; the US Federal Trade Commission has until July 15 to clear the Adobe acquision or impose conditions, and Adobe may sell its rights to Freehand to get the go-ahead.
