Adobe Systems Inc and Aldus Corp reckon that the combined company will have to take $12m in direct transaction costs against figures for the quarter ending November 25, and Adobe also expects to take a charge against earnings for the quarter of an estimated $55m to $65m to cover the costs of integrating the two software companies; the new company will be run from Mountain View, but will maintain substantial operations in Seattle, where Aldus is headquartered.
