Adobe Systems has released Adobe Captivate 6, a revamped version of its e-learning authoring software for creating an interactive e-learning and HTML5-based mobile learning content.

Using the Captivate 6 software, e-learning developers, corporate trainers, educators and other business users will be able to deliver dynamic, SCORM- and AICC-compliant course content.

Adobe senior vice president of Print and Publishing Naresh Gupta said today, learners expect engaging e-learning options on their iOS and Android devices – static presentations shrunk to fit mobile screens aren’t enough.

"Captivate 6 gives subject matter experts and content creators the ability to deliver eLearning content to mobile devices that is as robust and interactive as the content delivered to desktops," Gupta said.

The new revamped software features HTML5 publishing with pause and resume capabilities; HD screencast for creating HD-quality demos; new out-of-the-box assets; enhanced PowerPoint roundtripping; and enhanced quizzing to assess the knowledge, skill level or training needs of individual learners.

Adobe said that e-learning developers can use improved LMS integration feature of Captivate 6 to publish content to learning management systems, including Moodle, Blackboard, Plateau, Saba and SumTotal.
