The district’s project will deploy new dedicated, fiber optic laterals, connected directly to the City of Colorado Springs fiber optic ring networks. These connections will provide the district with reliable, dedicated, high-capacity connection to all of their facilities, while leveraging existing, city-owned backbone infrastructure.

Upon completion of the project, which is expected in January 2008, the network will provide enhanced educational services and equal educational access to district students. Advanced services enabled by the network will include distance learning, video conferencing, high-speed internet access, telephone voice services and data services.

Expanding technology is absolutely imperative to the advancement of education in our country, said Bob Sommerfeld, president of Adesta. Adesta is happy to be able to deploy the updated infrastructure necessary to make this exciting progression a reality for the students, schools and communities in and around Colorado Springs.
