Addstor Inc, Menlo Park, California claims that its SuperStor program provides lossless data compression on MS-DOS micros using software only: it is claimed to increase space on both hard and floppy disks between two and three times depending on the type of file being compressed, while taking up 28Kb of memory, plus 4Kb for each mounted drive, and it can load entirely in high memoryl as well as eliminating redundant data, the software writes to disk more efficiently, on a sector-by-sector basis rather than by clusters, and it sells for $130.
