ADDITIONAL SERVICES FROM IBM

In addition to the new communications products to support the X400 message-handling protocol announced this week (CI No 633), IBM’s Open Systems Interconnection verification service run from La Gaude in the South of France will be extended to support X400 and the new Open Systems Network Support and Open Transport Session Service; separately, IBM’s European Networking Centre in Heidelberg, West Germany is proceeding with an X400 Open Systems internetworking test programme, involving the Technical University in Berlin, Centre National Universitaire in Montpellier, France, the Centre for European Research into Nucleonics – CERN – in Geneva, the University of Zurich, Switzerland, University of Trondheim, Norway, and the Catholic University of Nijmegen, Netherlands.
