ADC KENTROX KIT SENDS SPEECH, VIDEO, DATA ACROSS E1 LINES

The Portland, Oregon-based ADC Kentrox unit of ADC Telecommunications Inc has announced the DataSmart E1 Multimedia Access Multiplexer, MAX, for integrating speech, video and data over an E1 or fractional E1 line. According to the company, the Simple Network Management Protocol-capable offering has Telnet support and a built-in PC Card slot. It is available in two models: the DataSmart E1 Quad-Port Add-Drop MAX with four field-selectable data ports (V.35, EIA-530, RS449 X.21) and one E1 drop port; and the Dual-Port MAX with two field-selectable data ports. It is out in November from $4,000.
