US data management heavyweight Acxiom Corp has formed an Australian joint venture with Publishing & Broadcasting Ltd (PBL). The companies will jointly own and fund a multi-million-dollar Acxiom operation which will have a high-profile chief executive in former federal director of the Australian Liberal Party turned PBL executive, Andrew Robb.
As with Acxiom’s US operation, the new venture will design, build and manage large, complex database solutions for Australian companies, Robb said. Services will include integrated market management solutions, online, real-time data provision, and facilities management of clients’ data centers. It will formally start operations in September.
Robb said the venture’s first customer will be PBL itself, and it will manage data spanning all the group’s operations, from network television to magazines and gambling.
