Samna Corp, Atlanta seems to have had the prize of ZSoft Corp snatched away from it: last week, it was so confident thad the deal was on that it was passing on the news at Comdex (CI No 928), but on Tuesday, former video games luminary Activision Inc announced that it had an agreement in principle to acquire the developer of the PC Paintbrush package, on undisclosed terms; Samna had planned to pay about $4m. Separately, Activision, Menlo Park, California, which is now majoring on Apple HyperCard, video and CD-ROM products, said that it would change its name to Mediagenic Inc.
