ACTIVE SOFTWARE EXPANDS INTO EUROPE

By CBR Staff Writer

Active Software Inc, one of the first companies to benefit from the Java fund set up last year by Kleiner Perkins Caulfield & Byers and others (CI No 2,984), has used some of the money to expand its operations into Europe. Active, which numbers Boeing Co, Andersen Consulting Inc, and Autodesk Inc among the customers for its ActiveWeb message brokering technology, has appointed a European agent and plans to set up a European base from which to target key corporate accounts and resellers.
