The Active Imaging Ltd arm of Active Imaging Group Plc, the Maidenhead, Berkshire-based company that floated on London’s Alternative Investment Market earlier this year, has come to market with what it describes as the world’s smallest video Web server. Essentially, each Mv-NET box encompasses a charge-coupled device color camera, a 50MHz 80486 personal computer board, a JPEG image compression card and an Ethernet or modem network connection. The whole thing is a little larger than a well-stuffed Filofax. It can be mounted in an enclosure which enables it to tilt, pan and zoom and so forth. It is priced at $4,000 and further details can be found at www.imaging.co.uk.
