The deal sees the two companies jointly market a combination of ActivCard’s Enterprise Access Card smart card and Lenel’s OnGuard CredentialCenter offering, which captures user data and prints the cards.
The offering is targeted at organizations that want a smart card that combines credentials for logical access to networks with regular photo ID cards for physical access to facilities.
The companies reckon it can comply with Sarbanes-Oxley rules, and federal government departments with Homeland Security Presidential Directive Number 12 (HSPD12), which requires this kind of combined identity badge.
