The Semiconductor Industry Association is backing legislation proposed by Senators Peter Domenici, Republican, New Mexico and Christopher Dodd, Democrat, Connecticut to curb those meritricious class action law-suits over alleged securities law violations by limiting damages to actual losses, as well as encouraging alternative dispute resolution, and providing judicial discretion for imposing penalties for frivolous lawsuits – something Computergram has long called for.
