ACT Group Plc – the new name for what is left of Apricot Computers after Mitsubishi bought its personal computer manufacturing arm (CI No 1,405) – has involved two of its divisions to win a UKP1m contract from the UK government: ACT Logsys is to project manage the provision of an open systems interconnection compliant Ethernet local area network and network management system at the Government Training Agency’s Sheffield office, supported by engineers from sister company ACT Computer Support, who will design and install the 1,780-node network.
