Affiliated Computer Services (ACS) said it will provide the Bureau of Workers’ Compensation (BWC) with pharmaceutical claims processing, drug utilization review, real-time utilization management and prior authorization services using its SmartPA product.
ACS is also expected to provide helpdesk and clinical call center services, and the design and maintenance of a maximum allowable costs list.
The contract expands the company’s relationship with BWC which began in 2002 and includes two, two-year options.
ACS’ innovative healthcare solutions meet the needs of Ohio’s injured workers, while helping the State control costs, said Harvey Braswell, group president of ACS State Healthcare Solutions.
