As its shares continued on up yesterday, Acorn Computer Group Plc said rather naively that it saw no reason for the rise – by lunchtime yesterday they were 57 pence, having soared to 74 pence before Acorn made its announcement implying that it thought use of the chip in the machine conceived to take on the video games giants – it is also used in Personal Digital Assistants that were demonstrated for the first time by Apple Computer Inc and Sharp Corp at the Consumer Electronics Show, was no big deal.
