ACORN FREES ITSELF FROM OLIVETTI

The future looks brighter for Acorn Plc as it frees itself further from the grip of the struggling Italian Olivetti group. Olivetti sold 15% of its stake and is expected to sell its remaining holding shortly. Two years ago Olivetti held a majority of the shares. Acorn has repositioned itself from being an educational computer supplier to a technology group focusing on the design of internet devices and digital interactive television.
