San Jose, California-based ACN Inc has launched 16- and 32-port Ethernet switches that operate at 10Mbps and 100Mbps over copper and fiber. The BSW-1600 and BSW-3200 feature store-and-forward, Web browser management, and up to 32 RJ-45 ports. Optional network management modules accept industry-standard Simple Network Management Protocol software; existing Web browsers such as Navigator can also be used to manage remote locations. Both are claimed to comply with the IEEE’s 802.3 Management Interface Base II, 802.1D, Ethernet Management Interface Base and repeater Management Interface Base specifications. The 16-port unit starts at $190 per port; $150 per port for the 32-port version. They are out now.
