Acer has unveiled Aspire Z5610-U9072, a new desktop PC featuring multi-touch technology and Windows 7 Home Premium. It has a 23-inch HD display with 1920×1080 pixel resolution and is powered by Intel Pentium Dual Core processor and ATI Mobility Radeon graphics.

The new PC features multi-touch technology that allows users to interact with the PC using fingers. The company said that with multi-touch, users can open and close programs, browse online newspapers, flick through photo albums and shuffle files and folders using multiple fingers as they would use a mouse.

According to Acer, the integrated multi-touch technology enables more gesture combinations and functionality than single-touch screens.

The new desktop comprises of 4GB DDR3 SDRAM, which is upgradeable to 8GB and a 320GB SATA hard disk for storing a multimedia library. It also has a 5W stereo speaker system, with ports for headphones, microphones and other audio peripherals.

The company added that Aspire Z5610 provides a fast network connection with 802.11b/g/Draft-N wireless and gigabit ethernet. It also has a built-in HD webcam and microphone for videoconferencing with family and friends.

In addition, the Aspire Z5610 offers TouchSuite, an integrated touch interface that syncs the PC and internet and makes it easy to browse social networking and digital media of all types. User can go to the TouchPortal to activate Touch Gadgets, which include: TouchMediaShare, TouchMusic, TouchPhotoShow, TouchFriends, TouchMemo and TouchSuite.

The Acer Aspire Z5610-U9072 desktop PC is available in the US via online technology retailers for a MSRP of $900.
