Atlanta-based Acer Corp, part of the ambitious Taiwanese group, has signed a joint venture agreement with Destiny Technology to develop a new generation of laser printers, and will establish a division headed by Acer’s Victor Wu, to market the products: Acer predicts that the division – which will also distribute Acer’s new LP-76 printer – should be clocking up business worth $150m by 1990; Acer has also won approval from its Malaysian parent to buy an undisclosed stake in the Sunnyvale-based company.
