Taiwan-based PC maker Acer has reported consolidated revenues of TWD162.1bn for the first quarter of 2010, representing an increase of 36.1% compared to TWD119.1bn for the same period a year ago.
For the first quarter, the company posted an operating income of TWD4.39bn, an increase of 70.6% compared to an operating income of TWD2.57bn for the first quarter of 2009.
According to Gartner’s preliminary PC shipment estimate for Q1 2010 worldwide market, Acer grew 54.5% on-year growth to capture top notebook spot with 19.4% in market share.
The company reported profit after tax of TWD3.29bn, an increase of 62.6% compared to profits after tax of TWD2.03bn for the same period last year.
Acer posted earnings per share of TWD1.25, compared to earnings per share of TWD0.78 for the same period last year. The 2009 dividend of TWD3.11 shall comprise of TWD3.1 in cash and TWD0.01 in stock.
