Taiwanese computer giant Acer Inc expects its 1999 net profit to nearly double to $156m, with revenue up 22.5% to $3.75bn. Earnings are expected to improve from the second quarter as Acer Semiconductor Manufacturing Inc becomes profitable and Acer America Corp pares its losses.
