In the wake of last week’s devastating earthquake in Taiwan, in which over 2,000 people have so far lost their lives, Acer Group has contributed $1.66m to relief efforts. In addition, it has sent an earthquake rescue team from Mexico to the major disaster sites.
Meanwhile, the company says that its operations, which are based in northern Taiwan, well away from the center of the quake, were unaffected. Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company Ltd (TSMC) which is based in Central Taiwan claims that it will be able to restore up to 80% of production by Thursday.
