ACER AMERICA CUTS ACERPOWER DESKTOP PRICES

Acer Inc’s San Jose, California-based Acer America Corp has cut prices up to 20% on its entire line of AcerPower desktop computers. In addition, it is offering resellers a $25 rebate and distributors a $25 credit for each system sold between September and December. The AcerPower Business Multimedia minitower with a 166MHz 16Mb Pentium, eight-times standard speed CD-ROM drive, 2.0Gb hard disk drive, 256Kb pipeline burst cache, and DMI software costs around $2,160, down nearly 9%. The AcerPower Pentium 133MHz desktop with 16Mb RAM, 1.6Gb IDE hard disk drive, 256Kb pipeline burst cache, Windows95, and Acer’s DMI software is off 17% to $1,525.
