Acer has released a new line of thin clients, Acer Veriton N Series, that it says provide simplified manageability and energy-efficiency in a secure form factor for virtual environments.

The new systems are designed for small and medium businesses, call centres and customers in education, financial services, healthcare and government wanting to manage data, while reducing overall costs.

Acer’s new range of thin clients include: Veriton N2110G Series, Veriton N2620G Series and Veriton N2010G Series.

By increasing hardware utilisation and consolidation, the Acer Veriton N Series claims to provide enhanced performance while keeping operational costs and power consumption low.

The new thin clients offers customers with a choice of operating system that includes Devon IT’s embedded, Linux-based thin client DeTOS 7.1, Windows Embedded Standard 7 and Windows 7/8.

They also feature Devon IT Echo Management software, Microsoft RemoteFX 3D virtual adapter, Citrix HDX high-definition desktop virtualisation and VMware View that simplifies desktop and application management.

Devon IT Echo Thin Client Management helps in creating and maintaining remote desktop connections and terminal settings from one central location. The software also alllows IT adminstrator to copy settings and profiles and updating system images.

The new systems are Energy Star 5.2 qualified and EPEAT Gold compliant and also provide wireless connectivity with optional integrated WLAN 802.11 a/b/g/n.

Acer Veriton N2110G Series are high performance x86 thin clients, which are outfitted with a dual core AMD G-T56N processor, 2GB memory and AMD Radeon HD 6320 graphics for improved multimedia capabilities in addition to four USB 2.0 ports and two USB 3.0 ports that provide connections to digital devices.

These thin clients comes with a choice of DeTOS 7.1 or the Windows Embedded Standard 7 operating system and they can save as much as 85% in power costs when compared to traditional desktops.

Acer Veriton N2620G Series are TPM 1.2 compliant, provides DVI-I plus HDMI dual output for supporting two monitors at once and features two mini PCI Express 2.0 slots to increase the flexibility of the VN2620G models.

These systems offer up to a second generation Intel Celeron 887 processor with Intel HD Graphics and up to 4GB of DDR3 1066/1333 MHz SDRAM. They comes with a choice of DeTOS 7.1, Windows Embedded Standard 7 or the Windows 7/8 operating system.

Acer Veriton N2010G Series are fanless models that features dual DVI output for 1920 x 1200 screen resolution and support two monitors at once to facilitate multitasking. VGA adapters are also available.

These systems come with the DeTOS 7.1 operating system and an ARM-based DM8148 processor from Texas Instruments (TI), complete with a PowerVR SGX530 graphics accelerator and HD Video accelerator to deliver enhanced multimedia experience. Four USB 2.0 ports are included for connecting a keyboard, mouse and other devices.
