Oyster Bay, New York-based Acclaim Entertainment Inc claims to be the first American company to publish software in Japan for Nintendo Co’s 16-bit Super Famicom: the company writes its games in assembler and C, but was unable to say which chip is used the the 16-bit box, although 8-bit Famicoms use the Z80.
