Hamilton, Bermuda-based Accenture said the new five-year deal builds on a 10-year relationship with Dow Chemical, during which time it claims to have helped the company improve its IT development and support productivity by more than 45%.

Dow Chemical also has a massive $1.1bn network infrastructure outsourcing contract with IBM Global Services that it entered into in August last year. IBM took on the seven-year deal after outsourcing rival EDS Corp canceled a previous $1.4bn deal by mutual agreement after failing to meet contract schedules and milestones.
