Services under the contract should begin in several months, according to a Bank of Ireland release. About 180 Bank of Ireland employees will be affected by the deal; they will face one of several scenarios, including transferring to Accenture, redeployment to other areas, and voluntary redundancy.
The deal, part of the bank’s current streamlining initiative announced back in March, is expected to save over $20m each year. As part of the overall cost-cutting program, Bank of Ireland plans to save approximately $140m each year over the next four years and reduce staff by 12%, or 2,100 employees.
