Accenture has collaborated with Magneti Marelli, a designer and producer of advanced systems and components for the automotive industry, for designing and developing the company’s in-vehicle infotainment (IVI), telematics and embedded software initiatives.
Under the new five-year contract, Accenture will develop and manage the company’s digital entertainment and communication offerings and services designed to improve the onboard driving experience of a wide range of vehicles, including cars, light commercial vehicles and trucks.
The company will utilise its global network of Automotive Solution Centers to provide a body of automotive industry knowledge and experience.
Accenture said that the services will be provided from four locations: Hyderabad, India; Turin, Italy; Shanghai, China; and Detroit, in the US, which allows clients to be served regardless of their location.
Accenture automotive senior executive Marcello Tamietti said the agreement will allow them to help the company offer drivers and passengers a huge range of new and innovative services in their vehicles, from infomobility and entertainment services, safety and security offerings, to car maintenance and e-commerce services.
