Accenture has signed a new three-year application outsourcing (AO) contract with Norsk Hydro, an integrated aluminum company, for the support and maintenance of two of Hydro’s SAP systems.
Accenture said that the new contract is designed to enhance the efficiency and cost-effectiveness of Hydro’s SAP-based business processes through an industrialised approach that offers efficient quality and innovation.
Under the terms of agreement, Accenture’s global delivery network will provide AO services to Hydro users in multiple countries, using centres in Germany and India.
Accenture Nordic Chemicals and Natural Resources Group executive director Olav Skjaeveland said that the new contract extends the company’s long term collaboration with Norsk Hydro and offers a new level of operational efficiency that helps Hydro succeed in international markets.
The company said that the delivery of outsourced services is scheduled to begin in October 2010.
