Accenture has received a new five-year application outsourcing contract from Norwegian financial services group DnB NOR to develop, implement and manage a range of applications that support DnB’s life and pension insurance operations in Norway.

Accenture said that the new agreement is designed to help DnB NOR improve service for its customers and drive growth in a key sector, while reducing information technology (IT) costs.

Under the terms of contract, Accenture will support new and existing applications that manage DnB NOR’s defined-contribution pension plans business, including policy administration applications.

Martin Fuhr Bolstad, a senior executive in Accenture’s Financial Services group said that by outsourcing its application development and management to Accenture, DnB NOR can focus on addressing its customers’ needs and cost-effectively manage their defined-contribution plans.

The financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
