About 45% of UK firms revealed plans to boost their cloud budget during 2014, when compared to the overall 31% European firms, a new report revealed.
According to the 2014 Priorities Europe survey, the proportion of firms considering implementing private clouds in the UK is in line with the European average of 25%.
The latest TechTarget report revealed that almost a third of surveyed UK firms considered using third-party cloud providers this year, compared to 19% in France, 20% in Germany and 22% across the overall Europe.
Currently, about of the European businesses are planning to use external cloud providers, while the number lies between 27% to 32% among UK businesses, which is anticipated to be mainly due to earlier disclosures about secret government surveillance of cloud-based systems.
Citing the report, Computerweekly revealed that the difference is most noticeable in firms’ enthusiasm to use software as a service (SaaS) firms and managed service providers (MSPs).
About 44% of companies in Europe planning to work with cloud service providers consider using SaaS providers, with 35% of them going with MSPs.
The report added that 39% of UK business cloud users intended to work on hybrid cloud integration, while for the overall Europe the average stood at 33%.
