The deal is designed to boost Adobe’s capabilities in processing digital camera raw files, the raw image data captured by the camera before it is converted which has much higher quality. The acquisition strengthens Adobe’s leadership position in raw processing.
Pixmantec currently ships the RawShooter line of digital photography software, and Adobe plans to integrate its raw processing technologies into Lightroom software suite for digital photographers.
