AAT unveils new business telephone system for SMBs

Uses ethernet LAN connections for internal calls and telephone lines to support external calls

By CBR Staff Writer

Advanced American Telephones (AAT), which manufactures AT&T-branded telephones has launched SB67030, an advanced PBX-style business telephone system designed for small-to-medium businesses (SMBs) requiring up to 50 extensions and up to 16 lines.

According to AAT, the new AT&T SMB phone system features individual components that can be configured to meet the requirements of any SMB office environment. The system uses existing ethernet LAN connections for internal calls and standard telephone lines to support external calls.

The company claims that the SB67030 has been designed to enable trouble-free setup and is simple enough for one person to install and maintain. The system can discover its components within minutes of being connected to the LAN. The web-based interface allows system administrator to easily customise the system.

The backlit LCD display provides help text to guide the user through all features. Context-sensitive soft keys change, adapting to user input and the cordless handset duplicates most functions of the deskset and also offers a speakerphone and selectable ring tones. The lightweight cordless headset does not require a lifter when paired with the deskset, the company said.
