Micro Data Base Systems Inc says that its MDBS IV database engine will be available as a Novell NetWare Loadable Module: MDBS IV is a transaction processing database that uses entity-relationship modelling and client-server architecture; MDBS IV will operate on the NetWare file server, eliminating the need for a separate database server machine; database input-output is handled through standard input-output calls, taking advantage of NetWare’s superior disk operating system and caching, so that the NetWare Loadable Module version of MDBS IV is up to 300% faster than the MS-DOS version; it runs in as little as 512Kb and it is expected to be available in the fourth quarter at from $7,000.
