The mouthpiece of the 88000 RISC community 88open claimed that the 88000 will continue to serve its customers with products into the new millennium and added that because of the changing attitudes of Apple and IBM toward open systems, there will be new opportunities in the open systems movement – as an organization at the forefront of open systems, 88open would welcome areas for cooperation in addition to areas of competition.
