Northern Telecom Ltd has received an $840,000 order for its Synchronous Digital Hierarchy transmission equipment from Macomnet, a joint venture between Andrew Corp and Moscow Metro which runs the underground train system in Moscow: the company will use the metro infrastructure to install a fibre optic network along the tunnels, and will sell capacity to other carriers.
