80486 PERFORMANCE AT 80386 PRICES SAYS TANDON

Moorpark, California-based Tandon Corp claims its PC Brand unit’s new Leader Series offers 80486-based personal computer systems at 80386SX system prices: the PC Brand Leader 486/SLC-25 is $1,400, 39% lower than Dell Computer Corp’s 486P/25 80486SX box at $2,300; the 486/33 Cache is $1,700 and the 486/DX2-50 Cache sells for $2,200; the first two boxes use the new Cyrix Corp Cx386SLC microprocessor.
