The company, a subsidiary of Phoenix, Arizona-based PresenceIT Inc, claimed some forty SME customers in its local vicinity in its first month and is talking to mobile operators and small integrators to resell the service elsewhere.

4SmartPhone’s service provides over-the-air synchronization-based access to Exchange data from Windows Mobile-based wireless PDAs and smart phones plus a number of value-adds. These include virus checking, junk-mail filtering and automated mailbox backups. The service is priced at $150 a year per user, with an additional $50 set-up charge.

The primary market for 4SmartPhone is those companies that don’t have the knowledge to mobilize their own email or where it doesn’t make business sense to do so, said president and CEO Patrick Gilbert.
