As a consequence of the announcement, changes will occur in present 2G endeavours by NTT DoCoMo and the J-Phone group.

Initially, within the 2G framework, NTT DoCoMo and the J-Phone group were allowed to provide mobile services with data transmission speeds of up to two megabits per second. This new deal means they can now offer up to eight megabits per second as part of the 2G package, as of next year.

4G handsets will be able to transmit between an amazing 50 and 100 megabits per second, even whilst moving at high speeds.
