4FRONT SOFTWARE BUYS FELLOW UK COMPANY FIRSTPOINT

4Front Software International Inc, a UK-based distribution and software services group whose shares trade on the Nasdaq, has acquired Firstpoint Ltd, a UK computer hardware maintenance and service company. 4Front has purchased all the shares of Firstpoint through its parent company, Strategem Group Plc, for a total of $6.1m, including the assumption of $1.4m in inter- company debt. $3.9m of the total, including the debt payment, has been made already, with the rest to be paid out over the next 18 months. With the addition of Firstpoint’s $19m maintenance contract base, 4Front expects its estimated annual hardware maintenance revenues to top $35m. The acquisition is not expected to result in any special charges and should be accretive from early 1998.
