3NET AND ELECTRONIC DATA SYSTEMS TO CREATE STRATEGIC ALLIANCE

By CBR Staff Writer

Rancho Cordova, California-based 3Net Systems Inc, the developer of local network-based laboratory automation systems for hospitals that ran out of money last year and almost folded, has signed an agreement to create a strategic alliance with Electronic Data Systems Corp, which will provide product development and other support to 3Net and will co-operate in the licensing and distribution of some 3Net products; 3Net will pay the company warrants to buy up to 2.652m new shares, or about 9.9% of 3Net’s enlarged equity if fully exercised; the products being discussed are 3Net’s Laboratory Information Systems, Accelerator, Automated Time Keeping System and Universal Scheduler software, and Electronic Data will help upgrade some of them.
