The 120Mb 3.5 floppy disk drive is here: Compaq Computer Corp yesterday announced a new line of Deskpro personal computers that use it as standard, and Minnesota Mining & Manufacturing Co said that it would have the disks available from April 2. The new LS- 120 drive, which can read 1.44Mb floppy disks, can be ordered separately as an option for all Compaq business desktop personal computers. The four companies involved in developing the LS-120 are Matsushita Kotobuki Electronics Industries Ltd, Compaq, 3M and OR Technology Inc. The disks cost $20 a time from 3M authorised distributors.
