St Paul, Minnesota-based Minnesota Mining & Manufacturing Co says that it expects its sales of electronic display components to reach about $500m by the year 2000, half the $1bn market opportunity for electronic displays. It declined to specify its current sales, but said it had made substantial progress toward its goal. Of the $1bn in projected sales, optical films would comprise $300m, projection-screen components $250m, coatings $250m and computer filters $200m.
